I am an animal ecologist with a special focus on local populations in mammals. Originally, local populations are aggregations of individuals that behave adaptively in a given area. However, recent human activities have drastically modified their original forms. I therefore aim to understand the structures and dynamics of mammalian local populations from the perspectives of adaptive evolution and human disturbance, and to improve conservation activities for these populations.
